Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!  This is the start of my seventh year serving as your principal at Sundance Elementary. Working with our school community continues to be one of the biggest blessings of my educational career!

At Sundance we are committed to preparing all of our students to lead happy, healthy, and productive lives.  Our goal is to have all students become informed citizens who are ready to thrive in the 21st Century.  Our school’s priority is to provide a safe learning environment where students are supported academically, emotionally, socially, and physically to reach their full potential.

At Sundance, we provide students with a balanced educational program that provides strong foundational skills that are grounded in the basics and blended with multiple opportunities to apply those skills in real life situations.  Recently, we added a STEAM lab and have featured many Project Based Learning opportunities for students as well. Technology plays a vital role in facilitating and catalyzing learning.  Additionally, our students have the opportunities to participate in the arts, music, band, chess, running club, P.E., science competitions in addition to being fully immersed in the state curriculum.

Over the summer, most of our teachers volunteered their time and money, with help from our Foundation, and attended the well renowned professional development Get Your Teach On.  They came back to school this year invigorated by this training and are excited to implement ideas around Engagement, Growth Mindset and a renewed focus on Character Counts. I am proud of our teachers’ professionalism, dedication, and willingness to be life-long learners!

Our Twin Trails Education Foundation works closely with our parents and staff to support and enrich our school programs.  We are proud of our entire school community for their help in making our school a place where children thrive and are given multiple opportunities to succeed now and into the 21st Century.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.  Here’s to the best school year ever!
Most Sincerely,

Bob Rodrigo
