Safety & Health Reminders
We are excited to welcome back our Otters tomorrow morning. Here are a few reminders to keep us all safe & healthy:
If your child(ren) have COVID-like symptoms or have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19, please keep them home and get a test to see if they have COVID-19. You can contact your healthcare provider, make an appointment at our testing partner Phamatech, or visit one of the free COVID-19 testing locations across the county.
If your child has tested positive for COVID-19, please keep them home and contact us at 858-613-9080 or email Mrs. Omoto at homoto@powayusd.com.
Make sure your child brings an appropriate mask to wear at school. Masks with exhalation valves or vents are not allowed.
Volunteer Requirements
As the volunteer restrictions are beginning to change, we want you to be aware of the volunteer requirements that must be completed before you may volunteer. Click here to get the forms and information you need to know before volunteering. In addition to the TB test and Megan’s Law background check, volunteers must also show proof of COVID vaccination or negative COVID test results. At this time, 1-2 volunteers for each class will be allowed on campus. Volunteers are able to assist teachers inside and outside the classroom. Masks are required for all volunteers. Volunteers must make arrangements with the classroom teacher before coming onto campus. All volunteers must sign-in and out through the front office. Siblings are not allowed to accompany parents who are volunteering on campus or on field trips.
Medication at School
If your child is on medication, a “Physician’s Recommendation for Medication” is required. Please print off a copy of the form located below and have it completed by the physician, we will be collecting completed forms and medication once school begins in August. No medication may be given at school without this form. An adult must bring the medication to the school office, in the original container medication is dispensed. Children may never have medication in their possession at school.
