Painted Rock Student Council

 Dear Families,

If your child is interested in joining the Student Council, please read the following information very carefully.

Background:
Our Student Council seeks out leaders on campus who portray our 6 pillars of character. These are positions that require dedicated students ( and parents because you guys are the drivers) who do not mind extra work and often go the extra mile to bring people together. Once members have been voted in,  meetings will be held Tuesday mornings (once-twice a month, TBD), and students will meet in room 12 during their lunch period, every Monday.  (This is new and mirrors what ASB does in middle school.)
This requires dedication indeed. Student Council often partners with our PTA/Foundation to help run school-wide events like our Boo Bash, Movie Night, Spring Fling, Art Walk, etc. and student volunteers will be needed. Last year, we had beautification projects that required volunteers on weekends, and we expect to do the same this year! As a parent myself, I value your time and understand that this truly is a commitment you will be making, too if your child decides to apply! So,  I find this information very necessary for you all.

Application Process:
There will be an informational meeting during your child's lunch period on September 12th. They will need to bring their lunch to the meeting! If they buy a lunch, they will get their lunch from the cafeteria and head to room 12.

*Note* If they miss this meeting, they will NOT be disqualified in the running. They just will not get the introduction piece with me. This is a time for students to ask questions about the process.

DETAILS FOR INTRODUCTION MEETING
All information regarding running to be a student council representative will be explained. Students will receive helpful checklists and explanation sheets as well.  I encourage them to attend! It is a part of their responsibility to remember the meeting.  The deadline to submit the online application will be September 23rd and results will be posted by September 27th. This online application will be something we will go over in the meeting. It will be available on the Painted Rock website for viewing under the Student Council Heading starting September 12th. ðŸ˜Š
