Each 3-5 classroom has one representative. The representatives are responsible for attending the meetings; helping the Teacher Advisors and Officers make decisions; reporting news back to their own class and to their lower grade buddy class; leading the school in the Pledge of Allegiance at assemblies and "Friday Flag"; and being role models for the student body at MRES.

April 2020
Student Council is asking you to join our Monterey Ridge Monarchs San Diego Brain Tumor Walk team!  Monarch families are invited to sign up using this link (kids can join our Virtual walk team for $5)

Monarch families are invited to sign up by visiting the San Diego Brain Tumor Walk website and clicking “Register to Walk,” “Join as a new participant,” and entering the team name “Monterey Ridge Monarchs.”

For a $5 donation to this cause so near and dear to the MRES community, a student will receive a handprint to color and contribute to our Monarch handprints display.  With a $25 donation, a student will receive a t-shirt.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 by May 4th, and create a magnificent display of Monarch handprints, and a collection of dance/walk videos to show support for patients battling brain tumors.

Mrs. Mahoney will send a handprint template and a return envelope with postage to monarchs who have joined our virtual walk team.  Kiddos will design their handprint and a kind message to "high five" the patients who need our support, and mail their creations to Mrs. Mahoney.

On Saturday, May 9th, we ask that Monarch team members record a video of a family walk or dance party, and email it to Mrs. Mahoney.
