MONARCH NEWS💮
Week of May 27, 2019
Hello Monarch Families,
The end of the school year is rapidly approaching and to help us all rest up for the home stretch, Monday, May 27th, is Memorial Day and there is no school.
I also want to call your attention to a few time sensitive things that have deadlines this week.  Girl Scout Troop 2861 is wrapping up their donation drive this Friday, and our last recycling collection of the year also takes place Friday. And finally, don’t miss out on ordering a yearbook for your child so they can save the memories of a great school year. Last day to order a yearbook online is June 1.

Enjoy the rest of your ☆Memorial Day Weekend☆

----------------------------------------------UPDATES---------------------------------------------------------

Will your student be returning to MRES next year?

  • Please note that many parents that have already completed the registration process have forgotten to hit the "Submit" button after printing forms.  Unfortunately, our system will still show your student as not registered, if you have not hit submit.
  • Students NOT registered for next school year will not be placed into a classroom for next year.
Online Registration process:
Beginning this school year, our continuing student registration process will be handled digitally.  This new digital process will allow a family to complete one single “family” packet instead of completing one packet per student.   Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection. If you do not have access to any computing device your student’s school will have one which can be used to complete the packet.

This new process contains three steps:
1. Login and complete the digital registration packet by visiting the ParentVUE portal:                 https://sis.powayusd.com/Packet

2. Print and sign the required forms located at the conclusion of the process. At this time, the State of California does not allow guardian/parents to electronically sign certain documents.

3. Come (in person) BY JUNE 5th  to return the forms you printed.

Our last CRV recycling collection of the year will be Friday, 5/31
Please bring your recyclables to the flagpole out front between 8-9am Friday morning. We only collect plastic and aluminum labeled with the CA-CRV symbol...NO GLASS (for safety reasons), cardboard, or milk jugs. Please be sure to sort plastic from aluminum into white or clear garbage bags.
If you drop off your bags before 8:30 am please make sure one of them is labeled with the name of your classroom(s) so your teacher(s) gets credit. The classroom with the highest participation at the end of the year wins a Class Pizza Party!

Girl Scout Troop 2861 Donation Drive
Girl Scout Junior Troop 2861 has been working hard on their Bronze Award all year.  The girls have been working with Lions, Tigers, and Bears, a non-profit, exotic animal sanctuary, out in Alpine.  As part of their work, the girls are holding a donation drive for the month of May to help support this wonderful organization.  Your generous support is so appreciated. A wish list is attached and is also located at each of the donation collection sites.  One is located in the MRES main office and another is at Room 1, ESS.  Thank you so much for your support, Troop 2861.
