PTA at Morning Creek

The Morning Creek PTA's purpose is: to positively impact the lives of our students through supplementing their education. PTA and Foundation are two separate entities.

Morning Creek PTA Goals

  1. Begin to work cohesively with The Foundation to create a more unified group of parents.
  2. Increase volunteer participation in the PTA so that we can keep vital programs in our school such as Science and PTA Dads.
  3. Continue to increase parent understanding of the purpose of the PTA and the programs it funds.
  4. Strive to increase the amount of donations into our Colt Fund while recognizing those individuals who have contributed at each level.
  5. Strive for our membership to reflect the broad diversity of our parent community.
  6. Maintain 100% teacher membership and grow our student-based membership by creating more opportunities for student members to become involved at events.
  7. Continue to streamline room parent support so that there is a more structured process.
  8. Continue to support College Readiness objectives by ensuring every student has a classroom college t-shirt for Friday College Spirit Day, while assuring that all teachers are satisfied and comfortable with products offered.
  9. Improve spirit wear profit by focusing on selling product we have in hand and focus on families using the on-line order process for new items.
  10. Increase awareness of the Science Program and the fun of science by implementing a new Science Program to complement our Science events already established on campus.
  11. Increase student participation in the Super Colts program, which is a "student driven" group.
  12. Continue to enhance the PTA's Art program
  13. Increase male participation in the PTA by actively looking for a new Chairperson for our PTA Dads Program and then programming events catered to the male population of MCES.

Four Important Things About PTA

arrow PTA is a powerful advocate for family involvement. Over three decades of research shows that the single most effective element in a student's success if the involvement of family members in the student's education.
arrow Members are the strength of our organization. Active and informed members make positive decisions that affect the welfare and education of youth locally, statewide and nationally. Everyone can be a member at any PTA. The more members enrolled in PTA, the more powerful our voice.
arrow You are important to us. It is important to the PTA that you, as a parent, understand the benefits of PTA. Attending PTA meetings is an opportunity to keep families informed and the school community about PTA priorities and the issues that affect our children.
arrow Our community is our greatest asset. As advocates for all children and youth, the PTA is most effective when we value all members of our communities by seeing the uniqueness of each individual and working to build strong representation from all groups

The Mission Statement of the California PTA
