JUST A REMINDER  If your child is absent or late, and has seen a doctor (medical, dental) please
provide the office with a note from the visit, to excuse the absence.

Thank you!   We are grateful to all the parents who are helping make dismissal a safer time of day.   Thank you for allowing our students to exit the double gates by the office BEFORE you come on campus to pick up your children.   We appreciate it. Please
Note - Gate Process Change:

Our gates in the preschool area will be locked from 7:30 a.m.  until 2:15 p.m.  This is for the security of our campus.  If you have a preschool student that enters preschool after 7:30 a.m., please use the front office gates from 7:30 to 7:45, then enter through the office any time after 7:45.   The preschool gates are not to be used for students in grades TK to 5.
Sharing is Caring!    Student Council will be hosting a Toys for Tots Toy Drive this holiday season, November 27-December 15. We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls ages infant to 12 years old.   All donations raised at Highland Ranch will stay in San Diego.  Thank you in advance for your charitable contributions.  Every child deserves a special holiday!
Show Your Love - Adopt A Family Program:
Each year HRES PTA participates in the PUSD Adopt A Family Program. This amazing program supports families within PUSD that need a little extra help around the holiday season. Please help us spread holiday cheer to these families by signing up to purchase an item.  You can sign up here or stop by the Adopt A Family tree in the office and pick up a tag. Please label your gift with age, gender and size if applicable and drop off your unwrapped gift in the office by Monday, December 4th. For more information or questions please contact Kristi Schneider at
Barnes & Noble Book Fair:
Kick off your holiday shopping with a fun family Night at Barnes and Noble in Mira Mesa on Wednesday, December 6th from 5pm to 8pm! Teachers will be reading some of their favorite stories, there will be an in store scavenger hunt, and Highland Ranch will benefit from all your purchases! Thanksgiving is coming which means food, fun, and family time!

Help our Highland Ranch Stallions earn money while doing your family’s food shopping at Ralph’s.   We all need to register (re-enroll) our Ralph’s Cards for the new term after Sept. 1, 2017 in order to keep the donations flowing.  Step-by-step instructions
can be found at then click Community, choose Community Contributions in the drop down menu, then scroll down and click ‘Enroll Now’.   HRES earned $1600 last year due to this program and funded such excellent opportunities as a
specialized Physical Education Teacher, and more.
Box Tops:
Thank you for all your submissions and congratulations to Ms. M. Eckman’s 5th grade class for collecting 474 Box Tops.  Your
class will get a popsicle party!!
We raised $177 in October.  Our goal is to raise $1000 so $823 more to go!  No worries, I have faith in us.  The holidays are coming here so there will be lots of food and opportunities to collect Box Tops.  Keep on clipping!
