Join us for a Virtual Community Forum on November 9, 2020 at 6:30 pm for the next Parents Moment.   In 2019, CDC and FDA data showed that more than 5 million US youth, including about 1 in 10 middle school students, used e-cigarettes in the past 30 days.  As our kids start transitioning out of elementary school and into middle school, the awareness and concern over vaping increases.  Thus, the evening’s topic: How to talk about vaping with your children, and what parents should know about it! We look forward to having you join us on this Parents Moment Zoom.
Unfortunately due to low participation we have had to cancel our International Night this year. We understand families are disappointed but we hope to do it next year again when all things resume to normal.

Order your yearbook today and save 5% until October 31st. Our yearbook editors are looking for our stallions showing off their masks.  Please upload those pictures

Did you know that the United States has the second largest number of Spanish speakers in the world?  It’s an incredible asset to be bilingual.  PTA has partnered with the most popular Spanish program in San Diego, Sing and Speak Spanish. Give your child the ability to be able to communicate with a whole new world of people as we setup a path for your child to progress through multiple levels of Spanish.  A portion of your tuition comes back to HRES PTA and directly benefits our school!

The  National PTA’s Reflections program (founded in 1969) has helped students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life. Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme.  This year’s selected theme is “I MATTER BECAUSE…” and students can choose from any of the six categories of the ARTS (Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts) to create and design a piece that reflects this theme, through their eyes.  ALL Google Form Entry Forms are to be submitted on or before October 30th, 2020.   All entries are virtual this year and images and video files will be uploaded to the registration form.  Please watch this video HERE of our PTA Reflections Chair, Heidi Moreno, giving some helpful information and a  quick tutorial of the entry form.  You will not complete the Google Entry Form until you are ready to submit your student’s entry.
