Round Up Bulletin

Good afternoon Stallions!

Another week where our Stallions showed they have Character and School Spirit!   Start with Hello week was a huge success.   Our students spread positivity, welcomed new friends and showed their school spirit by wearing green today.  We had 6 classes with 100% participation in today’s Dress Up Spirit Day!   Congratulations to Mrs. Smith, Ms. Clyborne, Ms. Thomas, Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. Eckmann, and Mrs. Vara!   There’s so much to celebrate at our school, and so many opportunities to show your spirit!  On Monday, we will dress in red, white and blue to commemorate those who lost their lives and those who bravely supported the victims of 9/11.  On Wednesday, it’s International Dot Day - a celebration of creativity!   So wear dots!  And parents, if you don’t know the book, check it out here:  The Dot (but don’t share it with your children until after school on the 15th in case they’re reading it in class!).

Besides school spirit, which helps the social emotional well-being of our Stallions, we are also dedicated to your child’s academic education! This week was 4th and 5th grade Science Class with Mrs. Wilson. She helped our students learn about the scientific method, measurement and testing a hypothesis.   Giving our students a chance to explore science in a hands on way helps build their confidence in this subject and we thank our Foundation and those who’ve donated for bringing a dedicated Science teacher to our school.

MONDAY WEAR RED, WHITE, AND BLUE
The September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance (9/11 Day), is a chance to help others in tribute to those killed and injured on September 11, 2001, first responders, and the countless others who serve to defend the nation’s freedom at home and around the globe.
September 11, 2021, is the 20th Anniversary of that tragic day. Join us on 9/11 Day— step forward to serve in a remarkable spirit of unity, honor, and compassion. Remember, even a small act of service is a giant act of patriotism.

INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY
Get Started. International Dot Day, a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration, began when teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom to Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot on September 15, 2009. The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”.
