FOUNDATION RETURN TO LEARN CAMPAIGN
The Return to Learn Fundraiser kicked off on Monday!  Have you donated yet?  We are counting on ALL of our amazing Stallion families to help us reach our goal of $30,000 which will allow us to continue to fund our outstanding programs (science, P.E., music, art and SO MUCH MORE)!  Don’t forget about Corporate Match programs and check out the amazing incentives we are offering this year!  If you have any questions, please email fallcampaign@hrefoundation.org
Remember, families who donate at least $150 by September 25 are entered into the Star Stallion raffle for a chance to win two (2) passes to the virtual San Diego International Film Festival held on October 15-18 ($300 value).  Families can still collect and donate through 10/16 to be eligible for additional incentives!

PARENT PEER MENTORING
New to HRES? Come and join with new and seasoned HRES parents to discuss school life, kids, and family! The purpose of this forum is to support the connection of new families in the school community to initiate a support network. While geared to Kindergarten and new families, all are welcome.

Each hour-long session will include an introduction to the topic of the day, a brief discussion with the featured guest, and break out sessions to help network with other new and returning HRES parents.

SESSION THREE will be on Monday, SEPTEMBER 28 at 6:30 p.m. and focus on conversations about how to support your whole child: Mentally, physically and emotionally. Our Special Guest will be Stephanie Carriero (Highland Ranch and Shoal Creek School Counselor).

JOIN PTA! CONTEST ENDS SEPTEMBER 30TH!!
The PTA needs your support to achieve its mission of building up our community and creating wonderful memories through its events and programs.  Membership costs only $10/member.  Each member adds to the PTA's collective voice. You do not have to volunteer time or attend meetings to be a PTA Member.  While we welcome and love our volunteers, volunteering is not expected of everyone. Each individual who simply takes the time to join helps their children and our school by putting more power into the hands of the parents. Your membership also gives you a voice and a vote at all PTA Meetings that you choose to attend.

CONTEST:  The class with the most memberships by Sept. 30th will receive a Baby Yoda gift bag for each student and a drive-by parade to pickup at HRES. Donations over $100 by Sept. 30th will be entered into a raffle for a prize basket which includes a Baby Yoda Tumbler and Spiritwear T-Shirt!

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Welcome to a new school year of Box Tops collecting! This year may be a little different with virtual learning, but the Box Tops for Education program is still going forward with digitally scanning your receipts. We will be using a Box Tops mobile app that can be found on any smart phone in the app store. The new app features technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online. If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products. Thanks for helping our school get what it needs!

FOUNDATION RALPHS CLUB FUNDRAISER
Donate to Highland Ranch while doing your family’s food shopping at Ralphs!  We all need to re-enroll our Ralphs Cards for the New Term after Sept. 1, 2020, in order to keep the donations flowing. This program resets each year, so please re-register your card or initiate one.  Step-by-step instructions can be found in the attached flier.  HRES earned $1000 last year due to this program, just based upon something we all need to do anyhow.   Way to multi-task, HRES!

2020-2021 NATIONAL PTA REFLECTIONS ART CONTEST

TK-12th Grade National Arts Contest, celebrating creativity and expression
The  National PTA’s Reflections program (founded in 1969) has helped students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life. Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme.

This year’s selected theme is “I MATTER BECAUSE…” and students can choose from any of the six categories of the ARTS (Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts) to create and design a piece that reflects this theme, through their eyes.  ALL Google Form Entry Forms are to be submitted on or before October 30th, 2020.

All entries are virtual this year and images and video files will be uploaded to the registration form.

Please watch this video HERE of our PTA Reflections Chair, Heidi Moreno, giving some helpful information and a  quick tutorial of the entry form.
You will not complete the Google Entry Form until you are ready to submit your student’s entry. ENTRY FORM LINK
