Deer Canyon Foundation History

The Foundation was established in 2001 by a group of parents and staff members who were concerned about the lack of technology at Deer Canyon. Since that time, the Foundation has purchased LCD projectors, computers and computer furniture for the school as well as provided computer training. While Deer Canyon’s original focus was to raise money for the technological needs of our school, the recent statewide budget cuts that are impacting the District have challenged us with raising money to fund other necessary school programs and needs. The Foundation still has goals toward supplying “state-of-the-art” technology in each classroom. However, over the year the Foundation has also been tasked with helping to maintain programs for student enrichment in the areas of reading, music, arts and physical education.
