Dear Amazing CV Community,

We did it—together! Our Canyon View village has completed a successful year, and what an amazing time it has been! I loved getting to know our kids and community.  I truly believe that the elementary experience is more than what our children learn from textbooks and our incredible teaching staff. It is our role as educators to instruct and support the whole child.

At CVES we are more than a school. We are a community that develops each child individually. We teach empathy, perseverance, and kindness. Kindness Matters. And that is how we know we are teaching more than the three “R’s”—reading, writing, ‘rithmatic. We are a village that is working collaboratively toward creating compassionate and problem-solving children who will shape and change our world!

Part of our mission is to create a campus culture that is fun, welcoming, and inclusive for all children, parents and staff!  In a world where we can create and be anything, I want to instill kindness to all our students. Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your child’s village, and I can’t wait to continue this journey together.  Always know I have an open door policy and invite you in anytime. We are in this together!

I hope all our kids enjoy the summer in sunny San Diego. Have a great break, and I look forward to seeing our Coyotes on Wednesday, August 22nd!

In the best interest of our students,

Jill Halsey
