Chaparral Elementary School New Student Enrollment

We are happy to welcome you to Chaparral!

New Student Enrollment for Poway Unified School District is an on-line process. For new enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year, please contact your School of Residence at the appropriate enrollment email address noted below.  As needed, please use the address look-up tool to assist you with the confirmation of your correct School of Residence. 

PLEASE NOTE: Your student’s enrollment ensures a seat at a school in Poway Unified. We make every effort to enroll your child at your neighborhood school. In some cases, classes at your neighborhood school may reach capacity, in which case we will work with you to place your child at a nearby school.‚Äč

As required by State law, all children entering Kindergarten must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2020. If your child's 5th birthday is between September 2, 2020 and December 2, 2020, they will be enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten.

STEP 1

STEP 1: Contact your School of Residence at the appropriate enrollment  Enrollment-Chaparral@powayusd.com to request enrollment.  As needed, please use the Address Lookup tool to assist you with the confirmation of your correct School of Residence. 


Step 2 - Obtain Original DocumentsSTEP 2:  You will be contacted by your school site regarding next steps to complete the enrollment process.  
 


Step 3 - Fill out and print Enrollment DocumentsSTEP 3: Prepare required and optional enrollment forms, which you can find  below to be uploaded in Step 4. 
 


Step 4 - Fill out and print Enrollment DocumentsSTEP 4:  Per directions from your school enrollment team, upload required and optional enrollment forms. If possible, registration forms and other documentation should be submitted in PDF format.

Step 5 - Bring Original Documents and Enrollment FormsSTEP 5: Upon receipt and review of required enrollment forms, you will be contacted by your school site in regards to enrollment confirmation and placement.   
 


Required Documents for Enrollment:

  • All District required forms can be found by going to the PUSD New Student Enrollment  (New Student Enrollment  forms are available after April 30, 2020)
  • Additional required documents to upload or mail for your child are:
    • Original birth certificate, baptismal certificate or passport
    • Original immunization record (see District website for required immunizations, if the immunization record is not up to date, your child will not be enrolled)
    • Two proofs of residency

Official immunization record must include:
• Name of Child
• Date of Birth
• Name of immunization administered
• Month and year of EACH immunization. Include day if obtained within birth month.
• Name of health care provider or agency administering EACH vaccine.
If you are taking your child to the doctor for their five year old physical and immunizations prior to enrollment, you may download the Report of Health Checkup for School Entrance MCH77 from the Poway Unified School District website  under new student enrollment.
