The Voyager Program

What is the Voyager Program?

The Voyager Program builds teacher capacity around the areas of blended learning - flexible learning environments, a balanced approach of purposeful technology integration, and meaningful feedback to support student-centered learning opportunities. Within this professional development model, Innovation coaches support their Voyager teachers to rethink classroom practices and integrate technology devices to engage student learning in a 21st-century classroom environment.

Voyager teachers receive regular outside of the classroom professional development. These trainings are are an opportunity for teachers to learn about the latest instructional practices, blended learning, ed tech tools, and implementation strategies. Teachers also receive time to collaborate with other Voyager teachers, creating their very own district PLC.

Each Voyager teacher receives their own 1:1 coach who visits their classroom every two weeks, and is available to communicate when the need arises. All coaches are previous classroom teachers and work with Voyager teachers to change instructional practices with the inclusion of 1:1 technology, student created data, and tools that help students become independent learners.
The culminating event in the Voyager program is the Showcase. Teachers in the program come together for an event to not just show what they’ve learned throughout the year, but to explain their journey through videos, photos, presentations, and words. Personal learning and reflection is a big part of the program, and this is an event to celebrate the hard work and determination of Voyager teachers.
