Chromebook Repairs

In accordance with Board Policy 6161.2: Damaged or Lost Instructional Materials, students are responsible for the proper care of school property and the equipment entrusted to his/her use. Parents/guardians will be responsible for district-owned technology property that is issued to their student(s), just as they are for other district-owned items such as textbooks, athletic equipment, or library books.  We have a warranty in place for District-assigned devices that covers manufacturing defects, but we know loss and accidents may also happen, even when students take good care of the device. The Poway Unified School District recognizes that there is a need to protect the investment by both the District and the student/parent. If the device is damaged, the District will repair or replace it, but students/parents will be responsible for the cost of those repairs or replaced devices.
