Jeanette Anderson has worked in Public Education for 19 years. She has served in multiple capacities supporting students with disabilities including at the site, district and county levels of management. She currently oversees Poway Unified School District’s own Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) and regularly collaborates with other SELPA Directors across the state. Jeanette also manages our Preschool programs supporting children with disabilities as well as Related Service Providers throughout PUSD including Occupational and Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Adaptive Physical Education teachers, and Assistive Technology. Before coming to Poway Unified, Jeanette served as the Assistant Director of Special Education in Palm Springs Unified School District. She has five sons and two dogs with whom she spends her free time.

This year marks Jodi’s 28th year in Special Education. As the Director of Family Engagement, Support and Resolution, Jodi oversees all of the District’s Alternative Dispute Resolution, Mediation and Due Process cases. She has made a concerted effort the last couple of years to more effectively support our families resolving conflicts whenever possible at the lowest level. She also oversees the District Resource Nurses and School Psychologists. Jodi started her career with PUSD as a Poway Academy of Learning (PAL) teacher before becoming a Program Specialist for 15 years and was promoted to Director during the 2016-2017 school year. When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her family including her three children and her husband. Sports and athletics are an important part of her family, especially supporting The Ohio State University.

Heather Schauder supports the elementary special education programs for Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade across the District. Heather’s 20 years serving students with disabilities from preschool through post-high school include 10 years as a School Psychologist, five years as a Lead School Psychologist, and most recently, five years as a PUSD Program Specialist. In her new role as a Director of Special Education, Heather is eager to continue to foster collaborative relationships with families, staff, and community partners. She is a proud PUSD parent of two daughters who have attended our schools from K through 12. When she is not in the office, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters trying new restaurants, going on adventures, and serving the community.

Tiffany King supports the District’s middle and high school special education programs, as well as the Low Incidence Programs which includes Visual Impairments, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, and Orthopedic Impairments. Tiffany began working in Poway Unified in 1999 as an Instructional Assistant and later continued to support students and families in special education as a high school Special Education Teacher, Department Chair, and Program Specialist, before promoting to the position of Special Education Director. In her spare time, Tiffany works as an adjunct instructor with Azusa Pacific University where she supports special education credential candidates. Tiffany is a passionate advocate for equity and inclusion. When she is not working, Tiffany enjoys spending time with her three children and husband.
