Spring into Spring with Poway Adult School! Director of CTAAE, Kathleen Porter

Greetings and welcome to Poway Adult School’s Spring Quarter!

As we emerge from an unusually long, cold, and wet winter for Southern Californians, we invite you to get a jump-start on living and learning this spring. On the pages that follow, you’ll find a wide range of course offerings that might help you do just that.

This catalog’s cover depicts one of our newest ventures. Working with our community and business partners, we developed a proposal to be able to address one of our growing community concerns: the need for more qualified direct care health workers. Beginning this spring, we will offer courses in a variety of formats to help individuals become certified direct care workers. Through a grant provided by the CalGrows Innovation Fund through the California Department of Aging, these courses are available at no cost to employees of local businesses and to individuals who are providing direct care to loved ones at home. For more information, please visit our website.

From gardening, art, and career skills classes to health, wellness, fitness classes (and just about everything in between), Poway Adult School strives to offer courses that will help our community learn, grow, and thrive. A few of our newest courses include:

  • Interior Design
  • Real Estate Investing
  • 3D Character Animation
  • Intro to Canva
  • Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations
  • Bridal Make-up Artistry
  • SQL Analytics

Our qualified and enthusiastic team looks forward to the opportunity to help you achieve your career, wellness, artistic, musical or personal enrichment goals. We have also expanded to new locations across the region, so that class you’ve been thinking about might now be only a few minutes away!

See you in class!

Kathleen Porter
