Benefits of CTE

The Benefits of Taking Career Technical Education Courses

Career Technical Education prepares students for success in college, career and life.  In CTE programs, core school subjects like math, science, social science and English Language Arts are reinforced and applied to solve relevant problems and create authentic projects and products.  CTE students participate in hands-on learning in a chosen career pathway and gain real-world experience through job shadows, career technical student organizations and/or internships.  Most pathways offer students the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school, meet UC/CSU A-G requirements for college admission and/or nationally recognized certifications, which can be used to obtain a job that will help pay for college or start a career straight out of high school.
