PUSD Swim Lessons offers quality swim classes for  children ages 3 to 16. With teachings from our well qualified instructors, students progress in their abilities and confidence in the water. The swim lesson experience gives children an opportunity to have fun while learning the fundamentals of water safety.

Our approach to teaching swimming is based on the American Red Cross certified method. PUSD has adopted some of the finer points of this program and incorporated them into our own proven philosophy on teaching children of all ages to be comfortable in the water.

2021 Summer Lesson Dates & Costs

The PUSD Aquatics Team is diligently working on creating an environment that will help protect staff and all individuals who choose to participate in our learn to swim program.

*In order to comply with public health orders, and maintain social distancing and operational best practices during COVID-19 pandemic, please adhere to the following guidlines when registering and arriving to the sites.  Masks will be required for admittance to the facility and worn outside of the the pool only.

*Swim instructors will teach swim lessons from the pool deck.  For those children who require close contact for the lessons (beg. starfish and otters) (or otherwise require an instructor with them in the pool), instructors will be in the water with the children and the swim instructor will teach with a face shield or mask.

*At this time to minimize the number of people present, only one adult (parent or legal guardian) may accompany the swimmer and view the lesson.  The adult must have completed the appropriate paperwork to attend.  Adults in attendance must remain six-feet apart while viewing lessons.

*The Aquatics Program will make changes as necessary to comply with any changes to public health guidelines.

*Please be sure to print out the reminder flyer for all of our policies.

Swim lessons will be offered only at Rancho Bernardo HS and Mt. Carmel HS for summer 2021 at this time.

One new addition for this summer is a new online registration process!  After much research, we have chosen Active Network as our partner to offer a convenient on-line registration system for summer 2021.  This will eliminate the long lines for in-person registration that participants experienced last year.  There will be a 5.25% service fee added to the cost of swim lessons for this online convenience.

Registration Dates: On-line Registration will open at 7:00am Wednesday, June 2, 2021
You can register online here and view the classes that will be available.
Also, please note that class sizes are limited, so sign-up early!
