Parent Letter – AB-104
Dear Parents/Guardians of Meadowbrook Middle School,
We recognize the pandemic has presented a number of challenges for many of our students. Offering options to help students who may have struggled with disrupted classroom routines is a priority for us at PUSD.
Accordingly, Assembly Bill 104 (AB 104) allows students to change their grades from a letter grade to a Pass or No Mark (NM). The bill also allows for students in grades 6-8 who received grades D, F, or NM in at least half their classes to have the possibility of repeating their grade level in situations where it is appropriate and in the best interest of the student. While this option won’t be appropriate for every student, it may provide an opportunity for some students to catch up. For questions or concerns about grade changes or retention, please contact your student’s counselor and/or administrator.
At Meadowbrook we want to work collaboratively to ensure decisions are made in the best interest of every student and their learning.
Sincerely,
Principal Crystal Brownlee
