Principal's Message

It is my distinct pleasure to be a part of the Valley Team serving as the principal of this exceptional professional learning community. Valley Elementary, A No Excuses University School has a long tradition of being a learning community where all students, staff, and parents work together to seize daily opportunities to help students succeed in school. Striving for excellence in all we do is part of the Valley heritage. I look forward to working with everyone as we continue to prepare all of our Tigers for college. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me or any of our team members. The professional staff at Valley is here to provide all support necessary for your child’s success in school. With Tiger Pride, Ricardo CeceƱa, Principal

Classroom Interruptions

Please be aware the teachers have a lot of work to do with your students and we ask for your help in reducing the number of interruptions to the classrooms.  Our office staff has been instructed not to interrupt the classroom during the school day unless there is a family emergency.  You can help by discussing with your child alternate pick up plans for the days you may be running later or when the weather is rainy or alternate plans in case lunch/homework/instruments are forgotten at home.  The office staff cannot guarantee that these items will get to the students in time.  We greatly appreciate your support in helping us create a successful environment for our Valley students.

Safe Drop Off

Please follow the link and review the process for a safe student drop off in the morning. We have observed a couple of close calls during the drop off or pick up of our Valley Students.  We are asking that everyone please review the process in place and follow those guidelines when dropping their child or children off in the morning.

Library OverDrive is here - eBooks for all grades at a fingertip!

Poway Unified School District is pleased to introduce a new, free reading service providing digital books through OverDrive.

Traffic/Parking Concerns

Valley staff (and many parents) have noticed traffic challenges on the rise, both in front of and in back of school.  Please remember that if dropping off in front of school, you need to pull all way way up to the MPR.  DO NOT stop in front of kinder to drop a child here.  Traffic backs up into the intersection when this happens.  Also, ensure your child is ready to go.  If you need to help your child out of the car in any way, the drop-off lane is not for you.  Park and walk your child in.  In the back of school, please PARK.  Do not allow your child to exit the car from the middle lane.  This is dangerous and also backs up traffic.  Finally, if grandparents are picking up (this seems to happen a lot on Wednesdays), please tell them that parking in front of the service yard (between the MPR and the lunch area) is not allowed at any time.  Trucks are often making deliveries and have had trouble getting in.  Never leave your car if you are parking on a red curb.  Let's make sure that as a community, we are doing all we can to keep our children safe!
