Updates Bulletin

Good Evening Cheetah Families,
This is Mandy Bedard, principal of Tierra Bonita, with your weekly announcements.
With the addition of our kindergarten students being dismissed at 2:05 PM, we thought it would be helpful to remind families about the pick-up procedures in the afternoon.
  • Please arrive as close to the dismissal bell as possible.  Arriving prior to dismissal creates a traffic jam on Tierra Bonita Road.
  • Do not let your child in the vehicle until you have come to a complete stop at the edge of the curb.
  • Never leave your car unattended in the loading zone.  If you need to enter the school campus for any reason, please park your car on the street.
  • Parents should remain in the vehicle when picking up their child.
  • Students should enter the vehicle on the passenger side.
If you are waiting for your child, as the vehicles in front of you pick up their child and leave the lot, please move forward to allow other parents to pull into the pickup lane behind you.
Thanks to all the Cheetah families who have joined us at our restaurant nights. We have raised close to $2,000 simply by joining our school friends for dinner at Islands and Chipotle (special thanks for patience in that long line). Save the date to eat at Luna Grill next on November 15, 2017 from 11am-9pm.
Join us at Friday Flag to celebrate our fundraising success. Six lucky kids who raised at least $150 will be SLIMING Mrs. Bedard!
It’s finally here, the week we’ve all been waiting for, BOOGIE BASH week!!  We're calling all volunteers to make this an AWESOME event.  On Friday, October 27th we will start set up right after Friday Flag; all are welcome.  We are especially in need of people to stay after the event Friday night to help take-down.  There are also still time-slots available in our carnival booths and in donating items for the bake sale and cake walk.  Please consider volunteering for a time slot by clicking the link below:
Additional Boogie Bash Needs:  12 Large Ice Chests/Coolers, 30 Extension Cords, 15 Power Strips, and work lights can be dropped off at the donation table inside the gate beginning Wednesday, 10/25.
Wristband sales are closed but carnival tickets and meal tickets will be available for purchase at the event.  See you from 5pm-8pm on Friday 10/27 on the blacktop for a “spooky-good” time.  **All children must be supervised by an adult** Let’s all work together to make this a safe and fun event for our kids!
Do you enjoy being outdoors?  How about the sound of children’s laughter?  If so, joining our team of character coaches (formerly known as noon duties) might be right for you!  We are currently accepting applications for character coaches to fill some vacancies.  If you are interested in applying, please email Cheri Kellhofer at ckellhofer@powayusd.com.
All students are invited to wear their costumes to school on Tuesday, October 31st for our first Halloween Parade.  Parents are invited to join us that morning from 7:55 – 8:25 AM to see our students transform into different characters for the parade.  Students who wish to participate must come to school in their costume.  As a reminder, costumes may not include weapons, full face masks that obstruct vision, or be scary in nature.  Please make sure that your child brings an extra set of clothes to change into or that he/she has regular clothes on under his/her costume.  Classroom teachers will be communicating to their individual classes what the expectations are for costumes following the parade.
We also understand that some families may elect not participate in the Halloween parade.  The event is not mandatory and if a student elects not to participate he/she will be provided with an alternate activity in our LRC during the parade time.
Thank you and have a wonderful evening!
