Students in grades 3-5 will be taking the CAASP (SBAC) between the dates of April 23rd through May 23rd.  Thank you for making sure your child is at school on time. Absenteeism during the test period creates problems for students. Those who miss testing sessions with their regular class will be given make-up sessions in supervised small group settings. However, most students prefer to take the test along with their classmates, and do much better in a setting with their own teacher.  Students need to come to school well rested and having eaten a good breakfast.

Collegiate Field Day is Thursday May 24th. Please save the date!  We need many volunteers to make this event run smoothly so that all the students can participate in the various events. This is a really fun day for everyone, so we hope you can support this event by volunteering.  Keep a look out for a sly-reply coming around May 10th.  Contact Erika Levy at or Sue Poole at if you are interested in helping in some preparations prior to the event.

Come join us on Friday, May 18th for the 21st Annual Sunset Hills Auction & Art Gala put on by the Sunset Hills Foundation. We will have art on display from each student in the school on an art walk, items up for auction, and performances by different groups including the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday Hip Hop Classes. PTA Reflection contest winners will be announced, and there will be music and fun for all. Some of the auction will be held online while some items are only available at the auction. We look forward to seeing you there!

Every year, we ask each grade to contribute items towards classroom baskets that are auctioned off at the event. Generous donations from our families have brought in thousands of dollars, directly benefiting our students. Please consider donating an item to the baskets listed below for your grade. You may also donate cash and we’ll shop for you. Donations and baskets for the items can be sent to school with your child or deposited in the collection bin located in the office. Monetary or gift card donations should be given to your child’s teacher or to Bridgette Padilla in the school office. Check PeachJar for more information and ideas for each basket.

Parents of children with a fifth birthday between June 1st and September 1st, 2018 who wish to enroll their child into a TK class, MUST place their child’s name on a District Interest waitlist. Beginning March 1, 2018, at 8:00 am, go to the District Website and select "TK Interest waitlist" to put your child's name on the list. District staff will notify parents on the Interest List starting in June, or later in the summer, of an opening in TK.  Due to increased numbers of students required to enroll in TK, please note space is very limited and will be determined on a first-come, first served basis.  It is critical for all parents to enroll their students in Kindergarten at their home schools when enrollment begins in May.

There is a new hotline number: (844) 787-3847

This tip line is for reporting suspicious activity, threats, etc and the calls go directly to local law enforcement.

PUSD Board Policy 4.415 prohibits volunteers on campus unless they have completed a background check and had a TB Skin Test. All visitors and cleared volunteers must report to the office, sign-in, and wear a visitor's pass. The PTA keeps track of volunteer hours and reports them to the Palomar Council.
