Spelling Bee
Another wonderful event for students and families has drawn to a close!  We’d like to congratulate the students who participated, the teachers that helped teach them to spell, and their parents who have supported them.   Here are the winners of this year’s Bee:

It’s in the news, and on the mind of our students.   As we investigate how our brains function in the MindUp curriculum, some students in Mrs. Lachel and Mrs. Cabral’s classes have created a Public Service Announcement on concussions.  Check it out!
Spell-a-Thon News
Thank you everyone for participating in our annual Spell-a-thon. On our next Round Up, we will announce how much we raised and who brought in the most pledges to be Principal of the Day. So stay tuned!
Box Tops
Today was the last day to submit Box Tops be included in our school’s April check.  Did not submit in time?  Not a problem.  We will continue to collect until June so it can go toward next fall’s check.  Remember, the class with the most Box Tops submission will get a popsicle party!  Thanks for your help!
Science Fair/STEAM night-
Now is the time to sign up!  Don’t wait!  This event is one month away and this coming week off is the perfect time to work on your project! This year our STEAM night (formerly science fair) will take place on Friday, March 16th, from 5:30-8:00 pm.  The name is different because we have changed this event to add more disciplines and more fun!  Please see all the details at

Also, the science fair committee needs you!  I am looking for two more parents to join my team.  There will be a meeting on Monday, February 26th from 1:45-2:45 in a location at Highland Ranch (room is TBD).  If you are interested in being on the committee, please email  If you join the committee, you will be meeting with the committee chair for about two hours at times before the event and helping during the event.  It is a small commitment, but very important!
