    Poway Unified’s Bond Refinancing Saves Taxpayers $2.3 million (Oct 1 2019)

    The Poway Unified School District is pleased to announce it has refinanced prior general obligation bonds of the District’s school facilities improvement district 2002-1 (the “SFID”) which were sold in 2011.

    64 Poway Unified Students Named in National Merit Scholarship Program (Sep 16 2019)

    Officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 semifinalists in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. The Poway Unified School District (PUSD) is pleased to announce that 64 students from Del Norte, Mt. Carmel, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, and Westview High Schools were named as part of this group.

    Poway Unified Accepted into National Network of Innovative School Districts (Aug 14 2019)

    The Poway Unified School District (PUSD) was accepted today into the League of Innovative Schools, a national coalition of forward-thinking K-12 school districts organized by Digital Promise, a nonprofit organization with the mission to accelerate innovation in education and improve the opportunity to learn for all through technology and research.

    Free and Reduced-Price Meals (Aug 14 2019)

    The Poway Unified School District announces its policy to serve nutritious meals every school day under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. Effective July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020, children are eligible for free or reduced-price meals if the household income is less than or equal to the federal guidelines.

    Michele Ward Appointed as New Principal at Tierra Bonita Elementary School (Aug 9 2019)

    The Poway Unified School District is pleased to announce new leadership at Tierra Bonita Elementary School. At the August 8, 2019 meeting of the Board of Education, Ms. Michele Ward was approved to serve as the new principal, effective August 9, 2019.

    16 Schools Named to California Honor Roll (Jun 10 2019)

    Creekside, Deer Canyon, Del Sur, Los Penasquitos, Monterey Ridge, Park Village, Pomerado, Stone Ranch, and Willow Grove Elementary Schools, along with Design39Campus, Mesa Verde, and Oak Valley Middle Schools, and Del Norte, Mt. Carmel, Rancho Bernardo, and Westview High Schools, have all been named Honor Roll schools for the 2018-19 California Honor Roll presented by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE).
