    Westview Junior Earns a Silver Medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad (Apr 27 2015)

    Jason Ge, Westview High School junior, won a Silver Medal for the USA at the 44th International Chemistry Olympiad. At the competition, Jason was selected to give the student oath in the opening ceremonies. He represented 300 chemistry students from 72 countries.


    PUSD Students Show Continued Growth on California Standard Tests (Apr 27 2015)

    Poway Unified students continue to perform well on state tests, as indicated by the results of the 2012 California Standards Tests (CST) recently released by the California Department of Education. This test is administered to students in grades 2-11 throughout the state. The California Standards Test is aligned to state content standards at each grade level and subject area.

    Colorado Tragedy Information (Apr 27 2015)

    Dr. John Collins, Superintendent of the Poway Unified School District, was contacted by the San Diego Police Department the morning of Friday, July 20th and confirmed that James Holmes, the suspect in the Aurora Colorado shooting, is a graduate of Westview High School, Class of 2006. Since that time, we have also confirmed that he was a student at Mesa Verde Middle School, and that he did not attend elementary school in our District.


    San Diego County Grand Jury Commends the Poway Unified School District (Apr 27 2015)

    The San Diego County Grand Jury released a report on June 6, 2012, commending everyone associated with the Poway Unified School District for significant accomplishments in providing a quality education. The commendation states: “PUSD’s capacity to include the students, parents, teachers, staff, administration, union, and the school board in the commitment to provide a quality education is superb.”
