Bus Pass Information
Because the State of California has ruled that transportation for regular education students is not an integral part of the education process and therefore does not fully reimburse school districts for this expense, the Poway Unified School District offers transportation services for regular education students on a fee basis only. The current charge for a full year-round trip bus pass is $575. Semester-only passes are available at a reduced fee. Over the past 15 years, the parents of our District have contributed a total of more than $15 million to ensure that they continue to have access to home-to-school transportation for regular education students.
Bus pass applications are mailed to the parents of all eligible students at the beginning of June each year to prepare for the upcoming school year. Applications are processed and bus passes are issued in time for school to start at the end of August. An Adobe Acrobat version of the current bus pass application is available on this web site. Parents may print the application at home and mail it to our office.
