The Standards are
organized around Unifying Standards,
Focus Goals and Learning Objectives.
It is important to understand this
organizational structure we have
designed:
Unifying Standards
represent constant, steadfast
targets that all students aim for
each and every year. They do not
change from grade level to grade
level.
Focus Goals are level
specific. They are considered
"sub-targets" of the
Unifying Standard, and should be
achieved by the end of a school
year.
Learning Objectives are
level specific. They are more
definitive and specific than Focus
Goals, and they define skills and
knowledge that most students will
need to learn in order to
proficiently achieve the focus
goals.
