Seven Things You Can Do to Help Your Child Have a Successful Year

1)    Be sure they have a quiet place to do their homework.  Distractions, such as other siblings, tv, noise, etc, can be detrimental to staying focused.

2)               Double check they all have necessary school supplies.

3)               Check to see what homework assignments have been written in their Binder Reminder…..if there is no homework, the word NONE should appear.

4)               Please make sure your child knows the importance of having a good breakfast every morning….and follows through by eating one.

5)               Encourage them to read a minimum of 15-30 minutes every night.  Pages should be logged down on their Reading Log Sheet.

6)               Establish a set “homework time” every night.  If extra-curricular activities have been scheduled, be sure homework fits into the schedule.

7)              When appropriate, be sure to tell me of any situations that may affect your child’s concentration on schoolwork.
