Unit 5  Selling                                               2nd 6 WEEKS

·        Chapter 13  -  What is selling?

·        Chapter 14  -  The sales process

·        Chapter 15  -  Determining needs & product presentation

·        Chapter 16  -  Handling customer questions & objections

·        Chapter 17  -  Closing the sale & following up

Unit 6 Promotion                                        3rd 6 WEEKS

·        Chapter 19  -  What is promotion?

·        Chapter 20  -  Advertising media

·        Chapter 21  -  Preparing print advertisements

·        Chapter 22  -  Visual merchandising & displays

·        Chapter 23  -  Publicity & public relations

 

THE FINAL WILL BE A COMBINATION ASSESSMENT OF THE CHAPTERS & THE PROJECT WORK.

To enhance the material found in the book as well as in the notes & lectures, speakers from business and industry will come in to the classroom to share their relevant business experiences and shed new light on career-related questions. Students will also have the opportunity to work on Marketing projects, complete weekly articles, and experience explorative field trips to near by businesses.

Evaluation: Successful completion of daily assignments (classwork and homework), tests/quizzes, work habits/attitudes/class participation.
