Assignments:  Information about assignments is maintained on the PHS web site www.powayusd.sdcoe.k12.ca.us/teachers/rkaechele/ .  Student grades are maintained at Mr. Kaechele’s school website as well.

Tutorial: Mandatory if student is receiving a 70% grade or less.

Grading: Students daily assignments are graded on a system of 3, 2, and Fix-It.  3 = A, 2 = B, and “Fix-Its” = 0 and must be corrected. Culminating projects will be graded based on the standard grading scale (A, B, C, etc.). A student’s overall grade is weighted based on the following:

Daily assignments                               45%

Culminating Projects                           45%

Final Project                                       10%

Total Grade                                    100%

Make-up work:  Students are responsible to have all missed work made up by the end of each unit.  No assignments from a previous unit will be accepted after a unit ends.  Any and all  make-up work is worth half-credit.

Pass/Fail:  The student and the parent should be aware that this class may be taken for pass/fail credit rather than a letter grade, provided the student requests this rating the first week of class.  The student may obtain the correct forms from the counseling office.

Attendance:  In adherence to the policies of Poway High School, a student is considered late if he/she is not ready to learn when the tardy bell rings.  Detentions will be assigned for any unexcused tardy.  This is based on the premise that an employer will not consider an employee on time if he/she is only in the building by the start of the business day.  An employer expects employees to be productive for every minute for which they are paid.
