K-RAM BROADCAST ABOUT US
Background Information
The Twin Peaks Digital Media class called, K-RAM, began in January of 2005. All the equipment was purchased by the Twin Peaks Foundation. K-RAM broadcasts throughout the entire school every monrning at 8:24 A.M. The broadcast equipment is completely run by K-RAM students, while the ASB students gain experience in being our morning announcers.
K-RAM Broadcast Positions
Program Director:
Over sees each broadcast (leader) and helps out the other techs when problems arise to ensure every broadcast is professional and of the highest quality. The program director is also responsible for locking the door and making sure that the equipment is turned off after every broadcast.
Teleprompter:
Each morning, the teleprompter sets up the computer and television for teleprompting. All Text should be enlarged for easy reading. There should be smooth transitions while scrolling down through text. The teleprompter is responsible for turning off the computer and television after every broadcast.
Camera Tech:
The camera tech will be trained to use the cameras in a professional manner. They will be able to pan and zoom in a smooth, professional technique to provide the highest video quality possible. They are responsible for turning on the lights and properly adjusting the cameras/lights to minimize shadows. They will turn off all cameras and lights at the end of every broadcast.
Audio Tech:
The audio tech will use the Mackie Audio Mixer (4 channel) to monitor and adjust multiple audio channels simultaneously to provide clear, loud audio throughout each broadcast. They will be responsible for turning the audio mixer and background music computer on and off at each broadcast.
Video Mixer Tech:
The video tech is responsible for properly running the video mixer by being able to switch from multiple video inputs in a smooth, seamless fashion. They will be able to chromakey a subject quickly with minimal green shadowing or over exposure. They will be in charge of turning the video mixer, monitors, DVD’s, and VCR’s on and off at each broadcast.
Computer Tech:
This person is responsible for setting up the broadcast backgrounds and titles using PowerPoint. Backgrounds and titles must be professional in appearance and titles need to be created with appropriate (easy to read) font size and font styles. All titles must be checked for accurate spelling. This person must also turn the computer on and off at every broadcast.
