Conference Guidelines 2009

If you do not have Internet or printer access at home, you will need to make time at lunch to go to the school library or make time out of school and go to a public library.

Step 1Print out your grades.  If you have a C- or lower in either Language Arts or Social Studies, you will need to schedule a conference with your parents in Ms Korvink's classroom.  Click here to see what times are available, ask your parents what will work for them, and then e-mail me with your top two choices based on what slots are open.  I will e-mail you a confirmation.  All students must complete a packet prior to their conference, whether or not the conference is in class or at home.

Step 2:

Using complete sentences, answer the following two personal reflections in separate 5-7 sentence paragraphs:

Personal Reflection#1:

1.       What do you know you do well? What is a challenge for you?  What habits do you need to break or what areas you need to focus on?

     2.     What keeps you from completing your homework?  How can you make homework a more positive experience?

     3.     Are you satisfied with your grades?  Why or why not?

    Personal Reflection #2:

    4.  Read over the Citizenship and Work Habits rubrics Check your grades and then Print out and Highlight the boxes to indicate where you feel your grade is.  Reflect on your citizenship and work habits rubrics.  (THINK HARD!)  What did you highlight? What can you change?  What makes you proud?  Type a paragraph reflecting on your citizenship and your work habits/effort.
