3x-5=5x-9
First I look at the problem 3x-5. Then I add nine to each side because
I need to narrow each side of the problem to just x and a single number. Then I
get 4+3x=5x. This is an example of the property of equality. Then I subtract 3x
from both sides and get 4= 2x. Then lastly I divide 4 and 2x by 2. My answer is
then 2.
3x-5 = 5x-9
+9 +9
3x+4 = 5x
-3x -3x
4 2x
2 2
X= 2
3*2-5 = 5*2-9
1=1
