Problem:

                    n+11=(-80)

                      -11

Because you need to get n by itself you must subtract eleven from the positive eleven to get zero.

n=(-80)        OR         n=(-80)

                         -11                         +(-11)

Next I must subtract eleven from negative eighty because I’m using the property of equality, or I could add negative eleven to negative eighty.

                     n=(-91)

This is the answer to the problem, but I have to check to make sure it’s right.

                    n+11=(-80)

First I must start with the beginning problem, next I need to switch the n with negative ninety-one because that is what I think the answer is.

                    -91+11=(-80)

Now all I have to do is add negative ninety-one and eleven, if the answer is negative eighty then I’ve done the problem correct.

                    -80=(-80)

negative ninety-one plus eleven does equal negative eighty so I know the correct answer is n equals negative ninety-one!!!
