    WHAT YOU WANT TO DO  You want to find the value of ‘m’ so first you must free ‘m’.

    STEP 1  You multiply 5 on both sides because what you do to one side you do to the other.

    STEP 2  M/5 multiplied by 5 = m, and 14 multiplied by 5 = 70 so m = 70.

    STEP 3  To make sure your problem is right, do a check.  Rewrite the original problem; m/5=14.

    STEP 4  Then on the next line, substitute ‘m’ with 70.

    STEP 5  Divide the problem to get 14.

    STEP 6 then write 14=14   at the bottom line.
