Problem 3/8 x =15

 Step one-The first step into solving the problem is to make sure you understand what the problem is asking you.  In this case we are solving for X.  If your have difficulties understanding a problem you can go to your teachers or ask a friend you know.

Step two- The second step into solving X you need to divide 3 by 8.  Your answer should be 0.375.  Your problem should now look like this 0.375x =15

Step three- Now you are going to divide 0.375 to both sides.  0.375 cancels out with itself and when dividing 15 by 0.375 you get 40.  You have now solved for X.

Step four- After completing the problem you may think you are done but your not.  You still need to check the problem.  It’s always safer to check the problem then get that problem wrong because of a silly mistake.  To set-up a check you need to write out your problem first. 3/8x = 15

                     3/8(40)=15

                       15=15
