Directions for Formulas

  1. Total the number of students who voted:  =sum(B3:B12) in  Cell B13
  2. Calculate the percentage of students who like a certain flavor:  =B3/B13 in Cell C 3 through C 10.  Right mouse click, Format Cells, Percentage, Decimal point 0.
  3. Total using AutoSum the percentages, to confirm that they equal 100%
  4. Count the number of flavors.  Insert your formula in cell B15.  If you forget how to count, see the GPA assignment.

Create the Pie Chart:

  1. Highlight the Ice Cream Flavors, Column A, and the Percentage of Class, Column C,  who chose that Flavor.  Hold down the CTRL key to highlight both columns.  Create a  3-D Pie Chart using the Chart Wizard.
    1. As you create the chart, look at the tabs at the top.  Click on Data Labels, and Show Labels.  Each section should now be labeled with the kind of ice creams chosen by your classmates.
    2. Save this as a New Sheet. Chart 1Rename Chart 1 with a new name of your choice.
  2. Right mouse click on the areas of the chart that you want to edit and change.
  3. Highlight the Ice Cream Flavors. Column A, and the Number of Students, Column B, who chose that Flavor.   Now Create the Bar Graph and place it on another New Sheet. Chart 2.  Rename Chart 2 with a new name.
    1. Data label needs to Show Value.
    2. Save this as a New Sheet.  Rename the Sheet

Insert three pictures

1.  Insert three graphics or pictures  of ice cream cones onto your spreadsheet, and your two graphs.  (One picture on the Spreadsheet and one on each of the Charts.  Total of three
