Organized ~ Stay Organized
Organized students are successful students.
"When students always have papers, class notes, and planners
together in a specific, known location, they are set up for
learning and success."
AVID Press 2004
Use A Planner: This increases your responsibility and
motivation
By
writing down your assignments, the directions and requirements, and
the due dates, you have
ownership of your work and learning.
You will also have a "record" of what you are learning so you
can share your successes with Mom and Dad.
Set Up A Binder: This increases your
responsibility and organization; keeps your work accessible
Think
of this as your portable office ~ all your papers and work are at
your fingertips. The traditional 3-ring binder is best, and
have a tabbed divider for each content area. This
binder
should be checked by you WEEKLY ~ make sure
all papers are hole punched and secured.
Keep Your Desk Clean: This increases
your organization; keeps books and materials accessible
"A place for everything and everything in its place." You will
be able to find your materials if
everything is stored properly.
You should clean and reorganize your desk WEEKLY.
Keep Your Backpack Clean: This
increases your organization too
Just
like with your binder and desk, if you can find what you are looking
for it makes your day go
smoother and you experience more
success. You should clean and reorganize your desk
WEEKLY also.
Organize A Study Area At Home:
With
a special place at home, set up with the necessary materials you
might need to complete
work, you will be more motivated to get it
done. This shows Mom and Dad what an independent,
responsible student you are.
