Everyday Math (and then some)

California Mathematics Standards - Grade 4:
"By the end of grade four, students understand large numbers and addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers. They describe and compare simple fractions and decimals. They understand the properties of, and the relationships between, plane geometric figures. They collect, represent, and analyze data to answer questions."
The strands of Number Sense; Algebra and Functions; Measurement and Geometry; Statistics, Data Analysis, and Probability; and Mathematical Reasoning are covered in a spiraling curriculum throughout the year.

After multiple measures of assessments, both of and for learning are analyzed, the students are placed in to cluster groups for differentiated instruction.  They may be working with any of the five upper grade teachers.  Grouping the students in this way allows the teachers to pace the instruction to better meet individual student needs.
