Learning Point

What is itHow do I use it?

Learning Point (A.K.A. www.blackboard.com) is a powerful, web-based environment that allows teachers to reach student and their learning need beyond the school walls.  Each teacher is provided with a classroom shell which allows parents and students access to classroom curriculum and content via a web interface.  This provides access from anywhere in the world, at any time of the day.

Because of the scalability of this tool,  Learning Point is used in a wide variety of ways, from providing each teacher with a classroom website to establishing a social community for our district committees.  As an instructional support tool, teachers create interactive and enriched lessons utilized the resources of the Internet in a safe environment for students. Learning Point allows them to provide online quizzes as well as student collaboration via discussion boards and blogging.

This tool requires student and parents to have a user account which provides security and privacy to our PUSD families.  These accounts are created when a student enrolls into a school site.  The following is the method for login:

Students:
Username:  full student ID number (not the lunch code version)
Password:  mmddyy (birthday)

Parents: (middle school and high school students only ~ elementary parents share an account with their student)
Username: p{then type in the full student id number}
Password:  mmddyy (birthday)
