The
book that will interest a person that likes adventure and excitement is Frightful’s
Mountain by Jean Craighead
George . This book is about a peregrine falcon named Frightful
and she has to learn how to be wild again. This
story was mainly about a bird named Frightful,
and she had to try and get back to the wild. She also had to be a wild
bird and survive. With the help of 426 and Chup
she even became a mother. I think everybody really should read this book. It is so full of adventure and excitement that you will stay on the edge of your seat. ~ Courtney The
title of the book I read was Frightful’s Mountain. The author
was Jean Craighead George. The theme is the survival of a Peregrine
Falcon. The author’s writing style has very strong vocabulary.
It is very good for a falconer to read
and gives
a lot of information
about
falcons to the reader. Frightful’s Mountain is a good book. It’s by Jean Craighead George. The title does not suggest the theme, which is a Peregrine Falcon surviving in the wild after slightly imprinting on a human. The book is also written from the birds point of view. I like Jean’s writing style in this book. "Another draft of warm air struck her open wings’’ is an example of how Ms. George describes a bird flying. If you choose to read this book you shall be immersed in a rich storyline, highly detailed characters and landscape, and a truly unique and epic story. Some of the down side is
that the book ends abruptly. On the up side is that the book it’s a
good book. I call it a must read. ~ Evan
In the book Frightful
is raised by Sam until she is taken by poachers.
They take her to a nearby town where Sam’s little sister
eventually sets her free. After
that she meets a male bird and takes care of his babies and then has
babies of her own. She also
stays through winter and has to struggle to stay alive. Poachers also takes two
of her three babies. A lot
of the story focuses on Frightful’s struggles in the winter and trying
to get her babies back. I didn’t like the book because there was no action. It was a slow story with lots of descriptions and nothing really exciting happening. For example, when the poachers take the birds there is no battle or fight and the police never chase the poachers. I would not recommend this book for boys because it seemed more like a girl story since there was no action. ~ Trevor Frightful’s Mountain ends off the mountain trilogy by environmentalist, author Jean Craighead George. In the final volume of the trilogy you view the story not from the eyes of a human, but from the perspective of a peregrine named Frightful. This book has a lot of information but gets boring after a few pages. But then I usually read different genres of books. Jean Craighead George’s writing style is informative. She likes to write about animals while including an interesting character or two. Some of the many settings in Frightful’s Mountain are the wild Catskill Mountains and the town of Delhi. Join Frightful as she journeys from place to place in an attempt to fulfill her destiny. Will she do it? Will she fail? You can find out the answers to all these tantalizing questions in Frightful’s Mountain. Frightful’s
Mountain by
Jean Craighead George is about a peregrine falcon named Frightful. The
book tells a lot about birds I never knew existed.
The main setting is New York. Once I finished the book I
got this funny feeling that it was a special book.
My favorite part is the end.
Frightful can’t find where she is, so she used her beak to
point north to find her way home. That day she learned how to use her inner compass. Read
Frightful’s Mountain to find out about her many adventures and
her survival. ~ Sierra Frightful’s
Mountain is
by Jean Craighead George. The
theme of the story is to let people know that migratory birds are
important and we need to protect them.
I think Frightful’s Mountain was a great book. Frightful’s
Mountain has
a lot of conflicts in it. Frightful
lives with a boy named Sam. They
did everything together. One
day these poachers take her away. Will
Frightful survive? Find out
when you read Frightful’s Mountain.
In one of the chapters it was winter and all the birds went
migrating south but Frightful stayed behind.
Will she survive the cold winters?

Mountain. Frightful’s Mountain was one of the best books I’ve ever read. I recommend this book to everybody because it is such a good book. I hope Frightful’s Mountain is the next book you read. ~ Johanna Jean
Craighead George wrote Frightful’s Mountain. I loved the book
it was very good!!! I noticed in Jean's writing that the genre was
adventure and survival because the bird Frightful has to learn to
survive on her own. I
liked the writing because it had a lot of voice and it turned out to be
a great book. I also liked the characterization in the book because some
of the characters were adventurous, funny, and brave. The
book is about a Peregrine falcon named Frightful. In this book Frightful
has to migrate but doesn’t because she has imprinted on a boy named
Sam who took her from her nest when she was young. She also must learn
to live on her own without Sam. Along the way Frightful lays eggs on the
bridge of Delhi. In my opinion I thought the book was GREAT!! I hope you will read this book and enjoy it as much as I did. ~ Bronte Frightful’s
Mountain
by Jean Craighead George, is about a peregrine falcon named Frightful,
surviving a cold winter in Delhi, making friends with a boy named Sam
and a man named Jon Wood, and mating tercels named Chup and 426.
The theme for Frightful’s Mountain is survival and the genre is
scientific fiction. I
like Frightful’s Mountain because of how Frightful escapes
tricky situations. One part is when Frightful gets electrocuted by a
telephone wire and is nursed back to health by Jon Wood. I
would recommend Frightful’s Mountain to any kind of person that
likes birds of prey because Jean Craighead creates an image of the
situation with her writing style. ~ Anh-Tuan The author’s writing was great but some of the words were hard to read. Frightful is a peregrine falcon learning to be a mother and a normal falcon. If you read this book you will love it because there are a lot of funny, sad, and gross parts. I recommend this book to all falcon lovers. ~ Chris Frightful’s Mountain, by Jean Craighead George is a great book that tells about how a falcon survives it’s harsh life through migrating, mating, and life threats. One of the biggest threats is when she decides to nest on a bridge that is being constructed on and her mate won’t bring her food because he is afraid of all the noise. The reason I like this book is it gives you a chance to see life from a bird’s eye view. To see what happens to the falcon, Frightful, and her babies read Frightful’s Mountain by Jean Craighead George. ~ Katrina Frightful’s Mountain is an exciting, suspenseful book. The Author is Jean Craighead George. I liked the story plot. The setting is valleys and mountains and the Delaware River. Frightful, the main character, faces many hardships and death looking her in the face. Will she make it through? Read the book to find out. I also liked the Author's writing style. The person who wrote this book is Jean Craighead George. Jean Craighead George talks about endangered peregrine falcons, how they fed each other, how they survive on a bridge, and how male falcons attract the female falcons. It’s really funny. How she wrote about the book felt like it was real, but it’s not. I liked the book because it tells you a lot about peregrine falcons, how endangered they are, and how people want to save them. The peregrine falcon is named Frightful. Frightful met Sam Gribley when she had not been quite two weeks old. He lifted her from her nest on a cliff. She was very small and had sharp talons, so he named her Frightful. That’s how she got her name and the adventure begins. About 6 years past. Frightful grew strong and big every time Sam fed her. One day she got bird napped by Bate and Skri. Frightful creee, creee, car-reeted loud, so Sam could hear her, but it was too late. They slammed the door and went driving somewhere. If you want to know who will save Frightful than read the book to find out. It’s very good you learn a lot of things about peregrine falcons. Again I love this book so much. Get up, get this book, and read it! ~ Siara Frightful’s Mountain is a great book by Jean Craighed George. It has a lot of voice and description. It’s a great story about Frightful who is a peregrine falcon, and Sam Gribley, a boy who lives in the forest. Frightfuls Mountain tells the story from a falcon’s point of view. If I could rate this book I would give it a 7.5 out of 10. The writing styles in this book are awesome. The author has great voice and perspective descriptions from a falcon’s point of view. The story has many problems or plots along the way helping you delve into the storyline. Also, when you read the book it will help you learn a lot about conservation and falcon protection. Frightful is nesting on the Delhi Bridge and is going to have eyeas, but she has a big problem. Her mate is not feeding her because he is scared about the construction on the bridge. Frightful knows better and keeps nesting. Conservation officers and others are trying to help, but what can they do? How can Frightful survive? Find out when you read this book. My last thoughts on this book are that overall it’s a pretty good book. I mean it’s not the best but it sure isn’t the worst. I think if you like birds, conservation, or even the author, than you will like this book. ~ Rahul The
book, Frightful’s Mountain, is a very interesting book. I like
this book because it has a lot of detail and voice. The main character
is a peregrine falcon named Frightful. The author is Jean Craighead
Gorge. Jean also puts a lot of voice in her writing. She puts a lot of
events in the story. Have you ever been able to live life from a bird’s eye view? Well reading Frightful’s Mountain by Jean Craighead George will surely give you that chance. I liked this book because of all the voice the author used in her writing. Jean Craighead George has her own way of writing, which really brings out the voice in the story. For instance she will put the writing into the main character’s point of view and really give you an idea of what they’re going through. Some of the main characters are Frightful, a Peregrine Falcon, and Sam who “owns” Frightful. Frightful is trying to survive a life that no ordinary Peregrine Falcon could do. She is struck by electricity, has babies that are hatched on a bridge while construction was going on, and has to escape danger. Will Frightful’ s life turn on her? Will her babies survive their life? Read Frightful’s Mountain to find out. ~ Breanne Frightful’s Mountain by Jean Craighead George is about a Peregrine Falcon surviving the wilderness with only the instincts of a bird. The story first takes place in the woods, and continues in the mountain and on the Delhi Bridge. The characters are Sam a boy, Alice his sister, Frightful, Chup and Oksi, all peregrine falcons. Frightful is in the wilderness without Sam. Frightful must raise baby falcons, unlike anything she has ever done. Can the babies survive? I would recommend this book to anybody. It is an exciting and an excellent book to read. This is also a great book if you like Peregrine Falcons because it gives you a lot of information about them. ~ Jake Frightful’s
Mountain
was written by Jean Craighead George. The author of this book is trying
to tell you that peregrine falcons are endangered and need to be
protected. I
thought that the book, Frightful’s Mountain, was really good
because it had a lot of information about birds and falcons that you
might want to know about in the future. If you only read the first page
of the book you wouldn’t want to put the book back down. I would
recommend any of her books to anyone my age and older. A
taste of the plot is a female falcon explores a new world after living
under the care of humans.
