Observation Log - pg. 9 - Banding Day

May 12, 2006 - The big day for "OUR" babies:
Onyx (male)
Hazel (female?)
Indigo (female)
Orchid (female)
Significance of the names: Written vertically as they appear above, the first letter of each name spells O-H-I-O.  The names are also all colors.  Mrs. H thought of Onyx; Katherine came up with Hazel; Margaret suggested Indigo; and Courtney came up with Orchid.
Some of the pictures are from the web cam and some used with permission of the person credited, who are generously sharing them with the class.

1:03 pm  Several hours later and the babies seem none the worse for wear, but Mom and Dad are still agitated - one is sitting on the camera.  Wonder if they are trying to block
our view?

5:24 pm  Looks like the great escape

6:37 pm  Getting some TLC from Mom after a trying day.

Another successful banding and all survived ... except for Mr. Dave Scott's finger which took a talon gash from Indigo.
