Falcon Watch 2006 Blog Topic 3

(Eggs are from last season!)

March 7, 2006
Who sits on the eggs more ~ mom or dad?
This question was raised on a falcon forum thread.  Some fans remember SW on the nest more, and some say it has been Buckeye who took on the duty of incubating the eggs.

According to information found on the Indiana DNR site, "The female typically lays three to four eggs and provides most of the incubation."

In class we looked back over the previous years' observation logs and took a vote.  7 felt SW was on the eggs more.  22 felt Buckeye was on the eggs more.  The students' reasons for their vote are on the comments page.  What do YOU think?
