Lexi's Falcon Watch 2005 Journal |
| 2/28 My first reaction toward seeing the falcons was that I thought this would be a really cool project and the birds were magnificent. They are much bigger than I thought they would be too! |
| 3/16 I didn't think the eggs were going to come so soon! It is really cool because we get to watch how the birds take care of the nest and babies. |
| 3/31 I think the book, Frightful's
Mountain, is more non-fiction than fiction because most of the
people that are in the story are real people and most of the
places that frightful goes to are real places. There were a
lot of details, people, and places described in the afterward that
were real too.
4/6 My favorite scene in the book was when Frightful came back to Sam after spending the winter with Jon Wood, who saved her from the electric shock. |
| 4/14
Falcons Falcons are so lucky to live in the wild, It is the best place to raise a child; Falcon eggs are dark red, On the day of hatching falcon babies poke out their heads; Falcons are such beautiful birds, I can't explain them in just words; High above the tree tops they soar, They do that, and so much more! |
| 4/14 Do you think that it is easy being a bird? Maybe sometimes, but incubation is very hard, especially in the virtual incubator! Instinct tells the birds how warm to keep the eggs and how much humidity needs to be in the air for the egg to hatch safely. Now that's amazing! |
