3/18  6:38 PM
Break time
Right on schedule SW laid the second egg today ...
That should make #3 arrive
on Sunday,
at which point active incubation will probably begin.

Both SW and Buckeye were (mostly) on, and off the nest today ...  The eggs  can be exposed to the cool air for a short time without harming the baby.  Today's temperatures were in the 50s but did got as high as 60° F mid afternoon.
Overnight light rain continuing into the morning will keep SW and/or Buckeye on the eggs tightly.  It is important the eggs stay dry.
We will hopefully see egg # 3 sometime today.

3/20  6:36 AM
Exposed for only 1 minute ~ still 2

The over-the-shoulder glance
The third egg was laid sometime during the night - right on schedule.  The weather remained in the mid to upper 30s all day.  The eggs were uncovered for a total of only 17 minutes ALL day... A good indication that
3/21  6:06 PM

3/21  6:36 PM
Buckeye has been babysitting
active incubation has begun. Both parents will take turns incubating the eggs for about 33 days ~ Then the fun will really begin.
3/21  6:37 PM
