Reactions To The Hatching and Seeing The Eyases
For The First Time ...

It is so cool they have hatched.  The look very fluffy and odd next to the adult falcons.  The weather wasn't good over the weekend for the falcon family, but it should get sunny soon.  This is VERY exciting!     -Eddie

YES!  After all that time the babies have finally hatched.  the babies are SO cute!  They are fuzz balls, but cute fuzz balls.  It is gross to see how they eat though - yuck!     -Ari

Honestly, to say I'm amazed and speechless is accurate!  The babies are so cute and small.  It is so awesome that they all hatched.  The weather in Cleveland is weird though.  Snow in April?!  I suspect it would snow like that in the winter but not in the spring.     -Rejean

I think the falcon babies are so cute!  I thought they were going to be bigger.  They seem so helpless right now.     -Amanda

I think it is pretty cool to finally see the babies.  I wonder what their names will be?     -Sammie

It is great to have four babies this year - and in a massive snow storm!  This proves that miracles are real.     -Blake

When I first saw the chicks I thought they were so cute!  I am so glad they all hatched.  My favorite pictures are when the chicks are all snuggled up together.  I can't wait to see what else we are going to learn and do!      -Kiana

I am really excited to see close up pictures of the chicks.  It's going to be fun to see them grow up!  Maybe we need to do another timeline of their growth.     -Kimi

When I saw the eggs were hatching I was so happy.  we have been waiting for this moment and it happened right in front of me.  WOW!!     -Tess

WOW!  I can't believe it!  Four chicks!  SW and Buckeye must be proud parents.  It was really cold the days three of them hatched.  It's just amazing.  I wonder if we will get to name any of the chicks this year?     -Zainab

The baby falcons are amazing!  They are so small and furry (well, at least it looks furry ~ the feathers are sticking up every which way.)  I think SW is very happy.  I hope they stay warm under the feathers like that - there has been a lot of snow!  It looked like the three chicks were dog piling on the fourth, waiting for it to hatch, then it did!  Do they even know they have cameras facing them?  I wonder if they enjoy all the attention they are getting from all over the world?     -Jenni

When I saw the baby falcons at first I thought they were just a fur ball.  When I looked closer I saw there were four.  WOW!!     -Tanner

When I first saw the babies I was surprised because I wondered how those tiny eyases can survive that harsh climate in Ohio?  Then I saw the down that covered them and I wished I had something that warm.  When the first egg hatched it looked like SW and Buckeye were trying to dry off from all the rain and snow.  A couple of hours later the second egg hatched, then the third.  Finally it looked like the fourth egg hatched because there was no egg in the nest that we could see, and there had been.  Then we were sure.  Everyone on the forum said it had hatched.  I was really excited!     -Thuy

WOW!  BABIES!!  I never thought that the baby falcons were going to be as white as snow.  Altogether in the nest they look like one big white blob.  The best part is ... ALL the babies hatched this year!  There is a lot of snow there right now - SW and Buckeye and the babies will be a lot happier when it gets a little warmer I bet.     -Elizabeth

Cool!  I can't believe that they hatched so soon.  This is so awesome.  They are so small and so cute!  I can't wait until they grow up.     -Lexi

Seeing the first egg hatch was so cool, but now seeing that all the eggs hatched and the babies are doing well is awesome!  I've never seen a falcon before this project.  It is really cool.     -Loren

WOW!  they're so white and small!  It is interesting and cool to watch them.     -Emily

I was surprised to see the falcons hatch.  I thought only 3 would hatch but then number 4 made it!  I can't wait to see them when they are older.     -Angel

I like the babies because they look fluffy and soft.  The babies were probably cold when it was snowing.  I'm glad that there are four babies and no duds this year.     -Nate

When I saw the pip on the first egg I was very excited because I knew one of the eyases was trying to come out.  It was awesome to see the first one hatch.  I jumped for joy!  I was very happy when three hatched.  I was worried about the 4th egg, it took awhile.  But then Mrs. Harvey said she saw a crack in the last egg and I was positive it would hatch too.  I'm so happy that all the eggs hatched this year.  I guess 2005 is a lucky number because we are very lucky to have all the eggs hatch.     -Kevin

I think it is awesome that the little falcons finally hatched.  They look like cotton balls!     -Tim
