5/21 There are big temperature variances from day to day in Cleveland ... Overnight it was in the low 50s and down to upper 40s in the early morning. At 9:00 AM it was 46° F with winds of 18 MPH. The high was 52° F at 5:00 PM. The cool days don't seem to bother the eyases as they are continuing to grow ... it looks like they got bigger just overnight and are almost the size of Mom and Dad! |

To impress his sisters, Kudos finally stretches his wings and tries to look like the fierce falcon. Buckeye looks on with pride ... "That's my boy!" |
|
5/22 Overnight was in the upper 40s -
low 50s. The low for the day was at 6:00 AM ~ 44.1° F
and the high was at 4:00 PM ~ 57° F.
As the eyases get larger and "spread their wings" we are worried that nest box is going to be too small for them all ... |

| 5/23 Overnight temperatures were in the low 50s. At 6:00 AM it was 50° F and at 5:00 PM it was 53° F, with the high for the day only 55.9° F. The area had heavy rain for a few hours in the late afternoon. The babies are continuing to grow ~ in fact they are almost as big as Buckeye now. One thing we have noticed is they seem to be eating less frequently than they did when newly hatched. SW continues to rip apart their food and feed them as she did when they were young. | |

The camera captured some close ups today that show
what exquisite creatures the peregrines are... The baby is Goldie, the
adult is Mom aka SW. Below is SW's feathers.
|
| 5/24 Overnight remained in the low 50s with mist all night. The temperature dipped to 48° F at 6:00 AM, and down to 41° F at noon ~ the low for the day. It was back up to 55° F by evening. The babies also had to put up with light rain mid-afternoon. Even in fowl weather, SW no longer broods the eyases ~ they are own their own to keep warm and dry. | |

|
| 5/25 Overnight temperatures were in the low to mid 50s and from 3 AM to noon it was misting. At 6:00 AM it was 48° F, by noon it was 57.9° F. A whole new world had opened up to the eyases ... today they started walking the ledge! From 7:15 AM to after 1:00 PM they explored ... like a human baby beginning to walk and "cruising" around furniture. They also continued wing flapping. |
![]() Hope looking like she wants to take off any minute. |

|
5/26 Overnight temperatures were in
the low to mid 50s with calm winds and no precipitation. 7:00 AM ~
52° F and 8:00 PM ~ 60.1° F, the high for the day. When
the eyases were barely awake this morning they were already out on the
ledge exploring, this time going to the left ... It is scary to check
the nest and see it empty now! They have almost no white down
left.
Don't forget to check the baby album for more pictures. |
