Poway has great schools! Here are some of the reasons why.

Safety comes first! You will always feel safe in our schools because we have a very strong discipline program. We have no tolerance for weapons or drugs.  You can count on it. 

We have great specialists in our district that help with speech, reading and writing or in any other area that you have a special need.

Our school district is so fantastic that we have won Blue Ribbon awards, Teacher of the Year awards, and many others. 

What do you like to do after school? Well, whatever you like to do, we have it all – everything from safety patrol (student crossing guards) to all kinds of sports. We also have band, Just Say No (say no to drugs and alcohol program), and homework clubs.

A really terrific after school program is offered at every one of our elementary schools.   It is called  ESS (Extended Student Services), where you are watched by adults before and after school if your mom or dad is working. At E.S.S. you get to have free play right after school. Then after that they give you a snack. Then after snack you get homework time instead of taking it home and doing it at home. Sometimes you get to do arts and crafts and go on field trips to the movies, Family Fun Center or Sea World.

Last, but not least, we have after-school enrichment programs which feature origami, foreign language, clay, gymnastics, science, and more!

Has your teacher ever created a web page with you? Well, you are experiencing ours right now! Dr. Phillips hires the best teachers he can find. For example, our teacher, Mrs. Foote, won the county Teacher of the Year award!

I really feel proud to be a part of such a terrific school district. It is one more reason to move to Poway!
