San Diego Wild Animal
Park is lots of fun for the whole family. My favorite part was Lorikeet Landing where I
got to hold out a cup of nectar to the birds. They
perched on my hand to get it. It was really fun!
We also went to the Petting Kraal and we had different kinds of antelope and deer eating
out of our hands. While we were there we got the pleasure of meeting the birds up
close and personal. I saw one with really fancy plumage. It made a very interesting
sound!
You can see from the
picture below that my little brother really loved playing on the neat things they had for
kids.
My mom's favorite part of the whole trip was
the Wgasa Bush Line Monorail. It's a guided tour on a train-like ride that lets you see
what the wilds of Africa look like. We got to see lots of baby animals including a one day
old baby black buck. On the tour the guide tells you about the different animals like if
they are endangered or not and stuff like that.

A newer exhibit, hiking trails through the Heart of Africa, was so exciting. You can
see giraffes up close and can even buy two biscuits for one dollar so you can feed
them.

You just stand up close, hold the biscuit out in your hand and the giraffe sweeps the
biscuit out of your hand with its long tongue. It is an awesome experience.
If you like animals, I'm sure you'll really like this place.
