SunThroughCloudsThe weather in Poway is great.  You can have fun playing outside (especially if you have a neat backyard) just about any day of the year.  You can rollerblade, race, play tag, sleep in your backyard, or play hide and seek until dark.  Plus it's hot so often that we probably have more "swimming" days than most cities on earth.

In springtime it is cloudy in the mornings and sometimes it's cloudy in the evenings.  But most of the afternoons are sunny and hot.  Sometimes it rains.  When it does rain in the spring, the weather is cool and drizzly.  Spring can actually be hot, warm, nice, cool, or chilly, but most of the time it is just beautiful outside.

In summertime kids are out of school and the days are very hot.  It hardly ever rains.  It is hot enough to swim for a long time.  It is hotter than spring hot days.  Sometimes when it isn't too hot it's nice to play games like tag, water balloons, and fun things like that.  It's very nice weather to go camping too.  The average temperature for August is 80 degrees.

In fall school starts.  The beginning of fall is very hot in Poway.  But after awhile, by the end of November, it starts to get a little chilly.  Some of the trees have leaves that turn colors and fall to the ground.  The weather is still pretty nice and it's a great time to have fun in the leaves and go on Halloween adventures.

In the winter it rains more than any of our other seasons, but our average rainfall is only 9.6 inches, so that's not too much. Sometimes it is even hot on winter days.  Winter can be hot, cold or warm.  It is a very fun season because all the tangerines are ripe and the weather is nice enough to still play outside and have fun.  The average temperature for January is 69 degrees.

If you want sun and fun plus low pollution, Poway is the place to be.
