to Then and Now
This first slide shows
the Templars Hall Building as it looked when it was built back in 1886. For awhile
it was actually used as Poway High School (from 1895-1897). It was the only public
meeting place in the valley so it was used for dances, Sunday School and other community
meetings. For a time it was owned by a church that added the arched windows you can see in
the new picture. The entire building was restored and moved to Poway Heritage Park
by the City of Poway in 1992. We took this picture at the park this year, 1998. |
